They look pretty good for just using a single photo shoot. This is all from the Chicago shoot with Billy so that crazy trip definitely paid off. AND from this little comp card i have offers from several foreign agencies that want me over there. We heard back from Thailand, Korea, Greece, Istanbul, and a couple others, which is super promising. If this one card can create that much hype than just imagine what an entirely new book can do.
After giving everything a lot of thought and countless nights of horrible sleeping, I have officially given my life to my wonderful agent, Greg. At first, I really thought that this would just be a side thing that would get me back in the business while going to school and working, but things have seriously changed. I'm getting rid of my backpack and servers apron and trading them in for my passport and 5 lb. portfolio. I am giving this last chance everything that I have. We have worked out a great strategy so that hopefully I will never ever have to pick up another dirty dish again. It's official that this girl will be in INSTANBUL, TURKEY in two weeks!
Now this all happened within 24 hours which is crazy! I literally just said let's do it. I want to go all the way and see how far it takes me and within a couple hours we had responses. That is the true reality behind the fashion world. In a matter of hours, my life has drastically changed.
I officially dropped all of my classes. Tomorrow I am going to turn my two weeks in. Over the weekend I am going to see my amazing family and then before you know it I'll be blogging from Turkey. Now this may all be super exciting and nuts, but there are some major downfalls to it. My boyfriend, Brendan, and my lil Lemmy cannot go with me which completely sucks balls since they have been my life for the past 2 years (Lemmy just 1).
I love them so insanely much and leaving them in KC is going to be the hardest thing ever (I'm actually crying even thinking about it). They are my heart and soul and being away for 2-3 months will tear me up, but in the end, traveling right now will benefit this lil family so so so much in the future.
Even with the sadness of leaving Bren and Lemmy, this is the start of something that is going to be amazing. Instanbul is only the beginning. There I will build my book back to a top quality level, bounce around to other fabulous cities, and make some moneys. I may be going to a foreign land that I know absolutely zero about, but I have done this before. The big difference now is that I am so much wiser, confident, and ready! I have the best agent a girl could ask for who is going to take me to the top. Without a good agent, a model is nobody. The last time I was sent overseas I barely talked to my American agents. They sent me and forgot about me. Now, I have an agent who cares and I know who will do the best for me that he can. We've already gone this far in a matter of two weeks so who knows how far we can really go.
Well I have to go book a flight :) so I'll keep you updated on the plans. Istanbul here I come!
